Chile logs 8.8 trillion attack attempts as pressure

Chile recorded 8.8 trillion cyberattack attempts in 2025, and between January and June 2026, 58 incidents affecting or exposing Chilean organizations were reported, according to the study cited by G5 Noticias. Of that total, 18 involved data posted on ransomware leak sites and 40 were tied to cybercrime forums on the dark web, with the Chilean government the main target during the period.
