Bolivia CNI Reports Facebook Takeover

Bolivia’s National Chamber of Industries said its official Facebook page was the target of a cyberattack and was temporarily taken offline while it worked to recover control. According to the group, the intrusion happened after administrators’ access credentials were compromised, allowing third parties to change page settings, post content unrelated to the institution and leave the account out of use.

That process included enabling multifactor authentication on institutional accounts, reviewing administrators’ devices and coordinating with Meta and national authorities to report the compromise and prevent further intrusions.
